ZEL designed and managed several upgrades to the Augusta Raw Water Pumping Station.  The latest upgrade brings the pumping station to 130 MGD including redundancy.  The expansions have included backup diesel pumps, two new intakes with a vehicle and pedestrian bridge across the intakes to maintain access to the Augusta head gates, hydraulic pumps, and new office facility.  The pumping station property is a major recreational path for cyclists, joggers, and walkers as well as a road that provides access for maintenance vehicles to the head gates.  Retaining walls, pathways, pedestrian bridge, and pathway lighting, had to be designed to maintain recreational access through the site. The project also required the canal to be drained and bypassed for routing waterlines under the canal.  Design services included site drainage improvement, site lighting, security cameras, electrical system upgrades, HVAC, and SCADA.
