As the City of Lavonia grew, the City and its Fire Department was faced with a need to expand its Fire Station to accommodate personnel and equipment. Site and space conditions provided a challenge for the project. ZEL Engineers worked with the City leaders and their Fire Department personnel in identifying the needs of the Fire Department and incorporating these needs into a workable expansion and renovation of the existing Fire Station.
ZEL provided design services and construction support for the addition of offices, training room and bay space for an additional two fire trucks, demolition and architectural blending, renovation and refurbishing of current areas of the existing Fire Station.
Design services included:
- Site work
- Masonry work including masonry demolition, concrete foundations, block walls and brick facing
- Truss roof construction
- Plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning
- Carpentry work
